Fountain Hills, AZ

Fountain Hills is a beautiful area northeast of Scottsdale. It's actually hard to believe that Scottsdale is just a few miles away because there is so much open space and many beautiful mountain vistas that were dusted with snow. We camped in McDowell Regional County Park, which is quiet, well-kept, scenic and surrounded by mountain biking trails. Miles and miles of moderate trails (for hiking and horses too) keep you going for as long as you like. Additionally, there are competitive trails for greater technical challenge and speed. It was a wonderful place to spend my birthday. We spent two nights here and look forward to going back.
